Float like a butterfly, make-dapo like a langaw

Lourd Ernest Hanopol de Veyra (Pinoy Socrates, Palanca-award-winning author, Dakila El Presidente, and reluctant heartthrob) is releasing his third book of poetry this weekend. He's brilliant. It's brilliant. Go buy it.

Don't ask why it's called Insectissimo!, I don't know either. Knowing Lourd, the reason will probably be wry and insightful and irreverent. Maybe he'll reveal the meaning at the launch. If not, there'll be video versions of Lourd's poetry made by Jun Sabayton (my personal omen of kawasakan - so yay!) and good times organized by Dakila.

Insectissimo! -- It's really fun to say it out loud, complete with hand movements.

Doctor Love

Yes. It's true. I'm in love. With a Doctor no less. A gorgeous, big-ticket, 38-year-old Doctor I've been stalking in Makati whenever I can. And all I need to call the Doctor mine is Php 70,000. At least.

Untitled (1972) by Edgar Doctor at Salcedo Auctions

Yep, I'd take that Doctor into my bedroom anytime. Too bad I can't really afford it. It's part of Salcedo Auctions' ongoing exhibition/silent auction, Color Field: Philippine Abstract Art from the 60s to the 80s. So if you've got the dough for some serious stunners or just want to ogle some high-end eye candy, check out Color Field here or visit Salcedo Auctions at Three Salcedo, Tordesillas Street, Makati.

But I call dibs on the Doctor.

Shameless Self-Promotion

I think this came off more snarky than normal because of the jet lag.

(My brother took a photo while I was working cramming to meet my deadline. The murderous glare has been cropped out for your own safety.)
